Simple things in life such as flowers, petals, their fragrance, and seasonal highlights like mist, snow, rains and bright sunshine along with the innocence and happy emotions in the sensitive minds of young children are what inspires him. These icons and visual idioms find an integral place in his work via good tonal rhythm and harmony of various colors. Rahul's work often reveals sentimental mindscapes of a young sensitive girl either alone or in the company of others with a natural backdrop. He endeavors to depict deep human feelings of happiness and joy in all his artworks. His works demonstrate contemporary Indian style of paintings with no shades or shadows of other tones. Also his works reveal culture vignettes and divine spiritual heritage of society in contemporary modern style.
Rahul has also received the following awards and honours in recognition of his work:
- 'Color of Concern', Concern India Foundation (2000)
- South Central Zone, Nagpur (2002)
